Beach Town Shopping: From furniture to cozy flannels, French Farmhouse brings 'the South to the South Bay' - The Beach Reporter
French Farmhouse has a new owner, but the Riviera Village store is still bringing beautiful home style and gifts to Redondo Beach.
Robin Eagan is the latest owner of the French Farmhouse. “I purchased it from Kristen and Joe Hoffman 2017 February,” she said, adding that “Since I took over ownership, I have enhanced the products in the store significantly. I am a blue ribbon member of the Mud Pie company.”
Mud Pie is an award-winning manufacturer of innovative and affordable gifts, based in Stone Mountain, Ga.
“In all the South Bay there are only two retailers that carry Mud Pie,” Eagan said. “So, it’s quite an honor. I carry more of the Mud Pie products than other retailers.”
Eagan is also proud of how her business has grown since she took over ownership.
“I’ve kept the reputation of the Farmhouse up by constantly treating my customers like each one is special. Our customer base has nearly quadrupled since I took over,” she said.
“I have three employees who work for me, and they all share the same feeling—that this is a really cool, happy place to shop and work in, and we feel this goes out to our customers as well.”
According to Eagan, “The future for the French Farmhouse is looking good. I bring new and unique items in monthly.”
The French Farmhouse carries a wide variety of unique items, including the shop’s Mud Pie selections. Eagan is continuing to “bring the South to the South Bay” with the simple elegance and warm welcome of Southern living. She carries custom made furniture and accessories for every room of the house, including the bathroom.
And, if shoppers are looking for clothing items rather than home decor, the shop has another unusual item that Eagan finds extremely popular.
“We continue to carry the vintage flannels that people go crazy over all year ‘round,” she explains. The shirts are all one of a kind, made to be worn by anyone who is seeking a comfortable, warm and ultimately cute look.
Among the décor items she carries are specialty candles, Mason jar décor, plates and glassware. She also carries jewelry and original artwork.
She notes that at French Farmhouse, she has something for everyone from the person who needs a quick gift for friends or co-workers, to those seeking to revamp the look of their home. The shop is well-known for being a gift spot where people can something perfect to fit just about anyone on their giving list.
From embroidered pillows to plaid placemats, clocks, dish towels, holiday ornaments and unique “elf on a shelf” style items, there’s a wide range of fresh and fun items for shoppers to browse and buy.
French Farmhouse is located at 1713 S. Catalina Ave. in Redondo Beach. They are open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday; until 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday for holiday shopping.
