I love Sam! Practical, loyal, down to earth. I just finished Pickwick Papers last December. I loved it. It was my last Dickens novel. It has the seeds of all of his future novels in it. I admire your goal. I was slower. I have read every Dickens novel except Sketches by Boz(is that a novel?) and it has taken me 36 years. You are in for the treat of your life. He is THE best writer ever. Have fun. I’ll be checking back for sure!
I’m doing the same!! Have enjoyed immensely bleak house, pickwick papers, Dombey and sons, Edwin drood, great expectations (wish to reread before masterpiece theatre in April), tale of two cities, and an now embarking on Martin chuzzlewhit. He is one of the greatest writers of all time. He even makes the wind an interesting character. His subtle humor is unsurpassed. Love dickens!
